What It Is: In its effort to further build out its Dayforce HCM offering, Ceridian has added two new applications: payroll and benefits. Dayforce Payroll is designed to let managers view, edit, fix and preview payroll in real-time. Embedded analytics are intended to ensure that payroll decisions are made in the context of relevant, accurate and real time information. Dayforce Benefits, meanwhile, provides users with tools for managing enrollment, and calculating, testing and analyzing eligibility. It supports an unlimited number of plan types and allows users to do side-by-side comparisons of available options, as well as confirm relevant data as part of the enrollment process. Tools also aid accuracy as well as compliance testing and analyzing benefits-spend. Pay and benefits are sold as a package, though pay can be purchased as a stand-alone product. Pricing for the two is $11.50 per employee per month. For pay only, the price is $10 per employee per month.

Why We Like It: Some of you may recall we recognized Dayforce's Workforce Performance solution as a Top HR Product in 2009 (well before Ceridian's acquisition of Dayforce last year). Now, four years later, Dayforce HCM returns to the spotlight with its benefits and payroll applications. Some of the same reasons for selecting Dayforce Workforce Performance back in 2009 are behind this year's selection of Ceridian HCM: Payroll and Benefits -- ease of use and a highly pleasing user interface. Users should find both these applications highly intuitive and easy to navigate. But we think it's the ability to preview and fix pay records in real-time that especially makes Ceridian's latest payroll offering well worth a closer look.
