A Three-Tiered Process

John R. Mattox II, director of research at Knowledge Advisors, a learning and talent-analytics company in Chicago, says HR data analytics provide three tiers of business intelligence:
* Tier 1. Simple reporting: collecting data about recruiting, onboarding, training and other programs.
* Tier 2. Aggregating information: creating score cards and dashboards that present easy-to-understand metrics based on multiple underlying data sources.
* Tier 3. Advanced predictive analytics: statistical analyses based on tier 1 and tier 2 presented in a clear and understandable manner.
