Larry A. Walker

Chief People Officer, Market Strategies Intl.

Market Strategies Intl., of Livonia, Mich., named Larry A. Walker its chief people officer. He reports to Chief Executive Officer Rob Stone.

Walker joins Market Strategies from Walmart, Inc., where he most recently served as senior director of strategy, execution and planning for Sam's Club. Walker joined Walmart in 2007 and held various positions of increasing responsibility, including director of HR strategy for Walmart's U.S. stores and director of learning and development for the company's southeast U.S. division.

Prior to joining Walmart, he held positions with Compassion Intl., the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Defense Educational Activity.

Walker earned a doctorate in education-training and business performance improvement from Capella University; a master's degree in education-educational administration/curriculum and instruction from Azusa Pacific University; and a bachelor's degree in education, English and mathematics from Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Mich.
