IBM has acquired Wayne, Pa.-based HR, talent acquisition and talent-management-software provider Kenexa Inc. for $1.3 billion. The acquisition gives IBM access to Kenexa's range of technology offerings that include recruitment, onboarding and employee assessment. IBM will integrate Kenexa's approximately 2,800 employees and operations from 21 countries into its software and services groups.
San Francisco-based cloud applications company FinancialForce.com has formed an alliance with Jobscience, also of San Francisco, to offer staffing and professional-services firms a combination of FinancialForce.com and Jobscience's technology to find staff for projects, capture time entered and invoice customers for services delivered.
HireRight, an Irvine, Calif.-based provider of on-demand employment screening technology, has implemented "green" data-center technology designed to decrease the company's power consumption by 45 percent. Implemented in collaboration with Cisco and EMC, the new infrastructure reduces the number of worldwide HireRight data centers from 10 to 4.
Los Angeles-based executive recruiting firm Korn/Ferry International has acquired Global Novations, a global talent-optimization firm with headquarters in Boston. The acquisition is intended to increase the scale of Korn/Ferry's leadership and talent consulting business, and extend the organizations' capabilities within the market for diversity and inclusion-focused talent-management applications.
TalentFusion, a Worthington, Mass.-based provider of recruitment-process outsourcing services, has acquired Augustine Inc., a recruitment-process outsourcing provider with headquarters in Camp Hill, Pa. The transition is the first in a series of planned acquisitions by TalentFusion designed to enhance its RPO delivery capabilities.
Talent-management-software provider PeopleMatter, of Charleston, S.C., has partnered with Woodstock, Ga.-based PeopleClues to offer validated behavior assessments to PeopleMatter clients. Platform users never leave the PeopleMatter platform when completing an assessment or viewing reports, and can assess appropriate job fit based on personality, attitude and cognitive questions along with job-fit matching and reporting for more than 100 job categories.

TalentBin, of San Francisco, has integrated with Chicago-based SilkRoad Technology Inc., allowing users of SilkRoad's OpenHire applicant-tracking software to use TalentBin's talent-search engine to search across social-media communities for qualified job candidates.
