I just finished reading the Special Report: Benefits (June 2). I note that there is a suggestion (in "Filling in the Gaps") that employees do not need prepaid legal plans because they only use lawyers a couple of times in their lives.
The comment provides insight as to why education on product services is so important for everyone. People need a greater understanding about how legal services can truly benefit employees and employers. It is unfortunate that employers would avoid prepaid legal plans based on this train of thought. Legal plans can and should be used frequently.
When an employee or employee family member needs legal services, the costs or outcomes can be emotionally and financially devastating without such a plan in place. The impact can absolutely be felt by the employer, whether or not its leaders even know what is happening.
I was a little disappointed to read this.
