In this case study, David Sensibaugh, director of Integrated Health at Eastman Chemical Co., offers an overview of the manufacturing company's initiatives over the past few years, when it changed its health-plan design and began to educate employees about healthcare costs while beginning a comprehensive employee-health program.
Among the results: From 2006 to 2009, the percentage of employees at low risk (0-4 health risks) increased from 59.3 percent to 66.0 percent. The percentage of employees at moderate risk (5-6 health risks) decreased from 33.3 percent to 28.3 percent.
