The Center for WorkLife Law at the University of California Hastings College of Law has created a model policy for organizations to prevent discrimination against workers with family responsibilities.
WorkLife Law is a nonprofit research and advocacy group that works with employees, employers, plaintiffs' employment lawyers, management-side employment lawyers, unions, and public policymakers, to educate each group about the prevalence of family responsibilities discrimination, and to develop effective measures to eliminate FRD.
In addition to the model policy, its website offers information about recent legal cases as well as steps organizations can take to prevent FRD. WorkLife Law also offers training for HR professionals as well as managers and supervisors.
