Tom Finnerty, senior vice president of human resources at Andover, Mass.-based Smith & Nephew Endoscopy, received the John D. Erdlen Five Star Award, the highest honor bestowed annually by the Northeast Human Resources Association, based in Waltham, Mass.

Finnerty joined the company as a vice president of human resources in 1999 with more than 20 years' HR leadership experience. He was appointed to the interim role of company president in both 2003 and 2006.
