Great article on the unique challenges experienced by virtual teams. Oh, so true. In my work with clients, I find that every business challenge has both organizational components (processes, structure, etc.) as well as human behavior components (different motivation/goals, interpersonal skills, team vs. individual focus, etc).

Effective face-to-face team work is challenging to achieve on its own. Working on a virtual team, even if the team is in the same building, but virtual, brings a whole host of additional challenges. I think too many virtual teams are set up without considering the potential impact on productivity and the quality of decision making.
