Streamlining Corporate Communications

QHR Software has announced a new Web platform for its Quadrant HR product, called QHRnet. The platform is intended to provide Web-based functionality in order to make corporate communications faster and more effective.

New features offered on the platform allow employees to view their demographic information such as name, telephone number and mailing address. Employees can also view their pay statements, vacation banks, and real-time staff schedules. Employee competencies are also viewable by employees, and staff can submit leave requests to managers via the Web.

Executive Retirement Benefits Assessment

Mercer Human Resource Consulting has released a product designed to help companies carry out governance obligations pertaining to executive benefits.

Mercer's Executive Benefits Research Tool (EBeRT) uses current data from the most recent Securities and Exchange Commission proxy filings on more than 700 companies to help organizations determine the relative value of executive retirement benefits. EBeRT is intended to help organizations compare their executive benefits with their peers in the marketplace.

JobAppNetwork has unveiled JobApp, its new automated recruiting and electronic job application, designed to eliminate paper-based employment-application processes by using a phone-based job application. It combines candidate sourcing, screening, scoring and selection into one process and can be used as a stand-alone solution or integrated into a larger end-to-end HR plan.

By using a phone or Internet connection, job seekers can send their information through JobApp, which automatically collects all necessary data and administers pre-screening and testing using computer-aided structured interview technology.

HotGigs Inc. has released ContractCentral, designed to automate the sourcing process for contract workers.

HotGigs ContractCentral automates the sourcing process and provides tiered vendor-contract management and automated timecard and invoice processing. It's designed to help companies build a comprehensive picture of staffing-firm performance and rates. Users can add vendors to their private staffing-firm networks and selectively broadcast new requirements to preferred vendors within their networks. The system's import features allow staffing firms to continue using their own timecard and invoice tools.

Scheduling Solution

Ceridian has launched an automated time, attendance and scheduling solution designed to enable employers to create detailed reports and analyses of employee productivity, absence management and other workforce management issues.

Ceridian Time Solutions is a scalable solution that lets employers view

their employees' time-accounting information, absences and leave balances on a single screen. Users may access an analytics reporting tool to run reports on hours worked, labor distribution and project management. Graphical dashboards can also be created to monitor information such as approaching overtime, project hours and job-costing data.

Other key features include enterprise time and attendance, labor management, employee scheduling, employee and manager self-service functions.

Workforce Resource Blueprint

Cognos has launched Cognos Workforce Resource Management Blueprint, designed to provide

staffing managers with the ability to forecast workforce requirements based on customer demand.

The Blueprint -- which consists of targeted, pre-built data as well as process and policy models -- is designed to help staffing managers determine headcount requirements by activity and set staffing effectiveness ratings by activity for each employee. The tool can also vary employee pay rates and automatically generate detailed financial implications of the staffing schedule.
