's fourth annual HR's Rising Stars competition. Once again, we present to you five individuals we believe represent promise, ingenuity and remarkable strength in leadership and persuasion skills when tasked with earning line-leader buy-in and getting things done.
We're confident you'll be seeing and hearing from them again in the years to come, as they progress to ever-higher posts and take on ever-increasing responsibilities within HR.
In all five profiles that follow, you will see how each one wrestled with some daunting HR challenges and turned them into positives in terms of bottom-line results and productivity. You'll also see a growing mix of U.S.-- and European-focused interests this year, a sign of our ever-widening global marketplace.
The panel of judges this year were Charles Tharp, instructor at Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations in Ithaca, N.Y.; Michele Darling, president of Michele Darling and Associates in Mississauga, Ontario; Gregory Hessel, senior client partner and global director of the human resource practice at Korn/Ferry International's Dallas offices; and Kristen B. Frasch, managing editor of HRE.
Panelists pored over a healthy number of nominations and weeded out their top five from a host of very promising candidates. This, of course, bodes very well for the future of the HR profession.
