Radio Show #179

R "Ray" Wang, CEO & Principal Analyst, Constellation Research

Show Date: June 3, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. ET/11:00 a.m. PT

You may not know Ray as well as some of our previous guests – but you should – because he roams all over the enterprise software landscape, including HCM. For that, he has been named Analyst of the Year (globally) three times by the industry group that tries to manage people like him: the Institute of Industry Analyst Relations.

He’s dazzled audiences at the last two HR Tech Conferences by his original ideas and compelling speaking style. The standing joke among his colleagues is that Ray either has two clones or three pairs of hands and three heads and never sleeps because he gives multi-tasking a whole new dimension by getting so much done. Actually, he says he gets most of his sleep on airplanes, where he is just about as often as we are in our beds.

On the show, he will talk about some of the themes from his new book Disrupting Digital Business, including why everything has changed; how HR needs to think of employees being in five generations of digital fluency (not chronology) and the disruptive changes in peer-to-peer networks.

Guest Description:

R "Ray" Wang is CEO and Principal Analyst at Constellation Research, and author of Dominate Digital Business. He's also the author of the new book Disrupting Digital Business (Harvard Business Review Press; May 2015) and the popular business strategy and technology blog "A Software Insider’s Point of View." He is one of the foremost experts on disruptive technology, and one of the technology industry’s most sought-after advisers.

Ray is a three-time winner of the prestigious Institute of Industry Analyst Relations (IIAR) Analyst of the Year Award. His company, Constellation Research, advises Global 2000 companies on the future, business strategy, and disruptive technology adoption.

Ray regularly speaks at SXSW, Dreamforce, Oracle Openworld, Fortune Brainstorm Tech, HR Technology Conference, Adobe Summit and VMWorld.
